Lisa Harris grew up in the Pacific Northwest where she attended high school in Portland, Oregon. In 1991, she graduated from Harding University with degrees in consumer sciences and bible studies. For the next five years, she and her husband worked with a team where they were involved in training and church planting in West Africa.
In 1997, Lisa and her husband moved back to the States and adopted a little boy. With a new baby in tow and no car, Lisa decided to do what she'd dreamed of doing her entire life: write a book. She also started selling devotionals, short stories and magazine articles. In 2003, her first novella was published in the collection entitled To Catch a Thief. More books followed, including Michaela's Choice; Undercover Cowboy, a novella in the anthology Cowboy Christmas; Rebecca's Heart; Adam's Bride; Matchmaker, a novella in the anthology Sweet Home Alabama; Tara's Gold; Massachusetts Brides; Under The Mistletoe, a contemporary novella in the anthology Montana, Mistletoe and A Matter of Trust.
Besides writing, Lisa loves to travel. She and her husband have visited over twenty countries throughout Europe and Africa. She's also spent time in Japan and Brazil. One of her favorite pastimes is learning to cook different exotic dishes from around the world.
Currently, she and her husband, along with their three children, are working in Southern Africa as church planters. She speaks French and is learning Portuguese for their work in Mozambique. Life is busy between ministry and home-schooling, but she loves her time to escape into another world and write, and sees this work as an extension of her ministry. She's currently working on an international suspense series set in Africa that mixes suspense and romance in a fast-paced adventure.
